Dormitory and Welfare Facilities for Non-Iranian Students

Student dormitory refers to as a range of university spaces intended for housing eligible students with the aim of meeting their cultural, sports, welfare, mental and physical health and extracurricular needs.

The dormitory housing provided for non-Iranian students in SCU is as follows:

Housing units for non-Iranian students include 3 suites in Hazrat Masoumeh dormitory complex and 14 rooms in Shahid Alam Al-Hoda dormitory complex that includes 4 rooms in Shahriari block and 10 in Jahanara block. Those students not interested in university housing can resort to hotels or rent private houses across the city.

Other amenity services offered to non-Iranian students include the following:

  • Providing medical services including doctor's appointments, injections, bandaging, sutures, serum therapy, ECG, blood glucose test, dental services, examination of medical certificates and medical documents of students.
  • Providing sports services including gyms, fitness spaces, indoor multi-purpose sports halls, outdoor sports facilities, swimming pools and cycling facilities.
  • Food services, including serving food in university dining halls and dormitories
  • Providing free consultation for family, marriage, education, psychotherapy, psychometric and psychiatric services to non-Iranian students.

Transportation to Ahvaz

Chazaba and Shalamcheh border crossings in Khuzestan province are two international gateways for Iraqi students' movement to Iran. Shalamcheh border, 15 km west of Khorramshahr, and Chazaba, 110 km northwest of Ahvaz, are consecutively located in the cities of Khorramshahr and Dasht-e-Azadegan.

Students from other countries with no land border with Iran fly to Ahwaz. Currently, the largest number of foreign students in Shahid Chamran University is from Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Jordan and Turkey. A longer list will include Yemen, Lebanon, Armenia, Czech Republic, India, China, Oman, Qatar, Bolivia, Italy, Venezuela, Nicaragua, and Nigeria based on the university future plan and conditions.
